SRINAGAR- The three day long J&K UT Pencak Silat Cup 2022 concluded on Saturday in Indoor Sports Hall Polo Ground, Srinagar. The event was organized by Pencak Silat Association of J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the banner of “My Youth My Pride”.
DDC Member Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain was the chief guest and Mohammad Iqbal, Manager Sports Council was the guest of honour. The medals were awarded among the medallist and trophies and mementoes among the referee jury’s and technical staff.
More than 900 participants from 16 districts of J&K participated in this event.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Aijaz said that Pencak Silat Association is doing a wonderful work for the involvement of youths across the state.
“I am sure that in the coming years, there will be a huge participation of women folk in the sport, which help them in carrier as well as way of self defence,” he said.
Nasir Ahmad Digoo, President, Pencak Silat Association of J&K, was the organising secretary for the event. He, along with Mudasir Masoodi, District President Srinagar and district heads from other districts like Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam, Bandipore, Baramulla, Kupwara, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar and Reasi were also present on the occasion.
The president was also flanked by Mufti Hamid Yasin, Secretary General Indian Pencak Silat Federation.
The event was monitored by Muhammad Iqbal, Incharge, Indoor Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar.
