Srinagar- An encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Baskuchan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday, police said.
A police official said that government forces launched an operation in the Baskuchan area of Shopian after receiving information about the presence of militants there.
He said that as the government forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon the party, which retaliated, triggering an encounter.
