Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir registered on Monday 34 cases of novel Coronavirus, the lowest ever single-day count in recent months, while no fresh fatality due to the deadly infection was reported during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 25 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected in Kashmir Valley and nine others from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of the pandemic in J&K to 478357.
In the Valley, they said, Srinagar detected the highest 14 new cases of virus, Baramulla 5, while two cases each were reported from Budgam, Pulwama and Kulgam districts. No new cases were registered in Kupwara, Anantnag, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 5 new cases of infection and one each in Doda, Kathua, Samba and Poonch. The remaining five districts of Ramban, Reasi, Kishtwar, Udhampur and Rajouri detected no new cases of Covid-19.
Also, they said that the death toll in the pandemic remhained unchanged at 4783, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
“Moreover, 141 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 20from Jammu division and 121from Kashmir division,” the officials added.
