The blood donation drive organized by the Kashmir chapter of globally renowned social justice organization ‘Who is Hussain’ evoked massive response across Kashmir Valley on Saturday.
People were seen waiting in long queues to get themselves registered to donate blood.
In Srinagar city, blood donation camps were set up at Imambara Zadibal and Imam Bargah Ayatullah Yousuf, Bemina besides Markazi Imam Bargah Budgam, Imambargah Gamdoo in Bandipora and at Nowlari Pattan.
Volunteers associated with ‘Who is Hussain’ said 1832 blood pints were collected across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
It is pertinent to mention, ‘Who is Hussain’ has it’s chapters in 60 Global locations worldwide including Srinagar where around 25 volunteers worked in order to aware people about Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandson Hussain ibn Ali (AS).
The blood donation camp was part of the global campaign ‘Be a global blood hero’ being held across several countries. The aim of the campaign was to set a world record-breaking challenge of collecting 50,000 units of blood in one calendar day.
