Srinagar- The authorities on Saturday suspended ten government employees for remaining absent from duties in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The employees were found absent from duty by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat while conducting surprise checks of various offices in Mattan, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, an official spokesperson said.
“The ADC inspected the attendance of employees at Tehsil Office, Block Development Office and GHS Mattan among other offices. During the inspection 4 employees of BDO Office and 6 employees of Tehsil Office were found absent and have been placed under suspension pending enquiry by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag,” he said.
As per the spokesperson DC Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom said that the inspections are being carried out to ensure that employees are present in offices during duty hours.
“He said that all district officers have been directed to ensure their employees are accessible to the public to ensure responsive governance. He said such surprise inspections will continue,” he added.
