Srinagar- After observing pen down strike for two-days, the Patwaris on Thursday called-off the strike following the assurances from the government that all their pending demands will be looked into at earliest.
Addressing a news conference here, Abdul Majeed Malla, president of All J&K Patwari Association, said that the pen down strike has been called off and all the employees will join their duties from tomorrow.
“There was a positive response from the government. Today, the Chief Secretary held a meeting with us in which he assured us that all the genuine demands will be resolved shortly,” he said.
“Among several demands, some include grade pay issue of graduate Patwaris, enhancement from 2400 to2800, direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars through promotions on the basis of service records and other,” he said.
“We are hopeful that the assurances given by the government will be ensured on the ground,” Malla said and thanked the administration for listening to the pleas of the employees.
