Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 131 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while no new fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 117 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 14 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the onset of the pandemic in J&K to 476175.
In the Valley, they said, Baramulla registered the highest 37 new cases of virus, followed by Srinagar with 24, Kupwara 17, Ganderbal 15, Budgam 12, Anantnag and Bandipora 4 each, Pulwama 3 and Kulgam 1. South Kashmir’s Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no new cases were reported Monday.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 7 new cases of virus Kishtwar 5 and one each in Doda and Kathua. No new cases were detected from the remaining six districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Samba, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi.
Also, the officials said that the death toll in the pandemic remained unchanged at 4779, as no fresh fatality was reported in the UT during the last 24 hours.
“Moreover, 435 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 51from Jammu division and 384 from Kashmir division,” they added.
