Srinagar- Two people, including a youth were killed after falling from Walnut trees in separate accidents in the twin districts of Bandipora and Kupwara in North Kashmir.
21-year-old Mohammad Amin Dar accidentally fell from a walnut tree in Lampora area of Odina village, resulting in his on-spot death, reports said.
A pall of gloom descended in the village as soon as the news about the young man’s death spread and hundreds thronged to participate in the last rites of the deceased.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man died of critical injuries he sustained after falling from a walnut tree in Kupwara last Friday.
Reports said that one Ghulam Mohiudin Lone, son of Mohammad Akbar Lone, resident of Lalpora Rangwar, presently residing in Muqam Dardpora fell from a walnut tree at Rangwar Hayatpora village.
The individual suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital from where he was shifted to SDH Kupwara. The doctors on assessing him there, referred the individual to SKIMS Soura, where he breathed his last on Saturday afternoon.
