SRINAGAR- Three Kashmiri judokas, including two girls Tazeem Fayaz, Tamleek Shah and one boy Basit Rafiq, have been selected in the J&K Judo team for participation in Senior National Judo Championship to be held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
After selection trials cum J&K UT Senior Judo Championship held at Jammu, 17 members of J&K Senior Judo Team were selected for their participation in the Senior National Judo Championship which will be held at Lucknow from 16th to 20th August, 2022.
The Women’s team include Khushi Thakur, Jimmo Devi, Tamleek Shah, Tazeem Fayaz, Shweta Thakur, Pala and Anmol Devi, while as the Men’s team include: Virbhadra Singh, Akshay Sharma, Shashank Baru, Rajat Singh, Danish Sharma, Basit Rafiq and Rajesh Singh.
Team coaches are Vikas Dogra and Ritika Slathia, Manish Chatwal as Team Manager. Team screening was done by Satish Gupta Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Anil Sharma Manager Green Field and Dalbir Singh of J&K Sports Council.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vikas Gupta Sr Vice President & Suraj Sharma Gen Secretary. Abdul Hamid Khan, Vice President, J&K Judo Association, Gowhar Khan, Joint Secretary, J&K Judo Association and Senior Judo Coach Shafkat Shafi and others congratulated all the players and wished the team for best performance.
