Srinagar- An encounter broke out between militants and government forces in Waterhail area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
Government forces launched a cordon and search operation at Waterhail area of the district following information about the presence of militants there, a police spokesman said.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired upon the government forces.
Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar said the three Lashkar men including highly wanted Lateef Rather were trapped in the encounter.
