Srinagar- Police on Saturday said they have arrested 3 thieves including a lady and recovered stolen property worth 6.5lakhs & cash amount of Rs1, 10,500 from their possession.
On Wednesday, Police Station Shergarhi received complaint from Kartik Sardar son of Sitaram Sardar resident of Hogli Kolkata West Bengal working as a goldsmith at Sarai Payeen Srinagar stating therein that during the intervening night of 26/27 July 2022 some unknown burglars have barged into his jewellery workshop and stole gold Jewellery items.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 60/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Shergarhi and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the investigation team after examining technical evidence and CCTV footage near the place of occurrence were able to identify one accused person namely Tahir Ahmad Mir son of Sonaullah Mir resident of Harden Silver Khurhama Lolab Kupwara. Subsequently, after strenuous efforts he was arrested within two days and on his confession two more accused persons involved in commission of crime were also arrested. They have been identified as Jabeena W/O Tahir Ahmad Mir resident of resident of Harden Siver Khurhama Lolab Kupwara and Irshad Hussain Yattoo son of Muhammad Akbar Yattoo resident of Sultanpora Pattan Baramullah.
On their disclosure, all the stolen property worth Rs. 6, 50,000 was recovered from their possession.
