Srinagar- Glowing tributes were paid to noted philanthropist, poet and researcher late Tak Zaingiri (Ab Khaliq Tak) on his death anniversary at an impressive function held at Banat Institute of Education, Gopalpora , Chadoora .
The function was organised by Kashmir Concern Foundation (KCF) headed by noted social activist Advocate Ab. Rashid Hanjura.
Students of the Banat Institute of Education and speakers including Ab Rehman Lateef , Ab Rashid Hanjura and Nazir Ahmad , while paying rich tributes to Late Tak Zaingiri highlighted his contribution in social awakening and selfless service to humanity.
“He laid foundation of one of the biggest and most reputed Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Trust in 1963 which continues to heal up wounds and miseries of thousands widows and orphans since last 63 years . After rendering tremendous valuable service to downtrodden sections of the society especially widows, orphans and destitute.”
“Tak Zainagiri left this world on 24th of July 1989 . His legacy was carried by his son Zahoor Ahmad Tak who now heads the Yateem Trust with utmost dedication and sincerely.”
Speakers recalled his contribution towards society. They urged the people especially youth to carry forward the legacy of service to humanity as shown by the late Ab Khaliq Tak.
On this occasion, Tak Zainagiri awards were given to writers and Muneer Saraibali and Tanha Shoolpuri for their contribution in the social service .
Four new poetic collections including Qandi Muqrar in Persian, Irfanuq Aalav, Batado Qalandar Kral and Qalma Irfan in Kashmiri .
A lively Mehfi-l-Mushaira was also held on the occasion which was attended by a galaxy of prominent poets. The poets who presented their poems included Shakeel ul Rehman , Ali Ahsan , Hararat Hameed , Tanha Shehipora , Dr Waahid Raza , Naeem Kashmiri , Ab Rehman Lateef , Muneer Saraibali , Assad Ullah Asad , G Q Attar, Mohd Ismail Kumar, Ab Salaam Chrawni ,Qayoom Kashmiri , Gh Mohd.Faqir , Peer Ghulam Mohiuddin Borwa , Nazim Nazir , correspondent daily Urdu newspaper ‘Tameel-e-Irshad’.
The students of the Banat Education Institute also presented a lively debate on the occasion. Principal of the Institute also spoke on the occasion and paid rich tributes to Late Tak Zainagiri.
Ab Rashid Hanjura presented vote of thanks and extended warm greetings to the honorable guests who attended the function.
