Srinagar– Two drug peddlers have been booked under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said on Thursday.
“Acting tough against drug abuse and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police booked two notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority”, said a police spokesperson in a statement.
Identifying the accused duo; Shabir Ahmed Sofi @ JK son of Abdul Khaliq Sofi resident of Mazhama Magam and Asif Nazir Rather son of Nazir Ahmed Rather resident of Archanderhama Budgam, the police said both of them have been lodged in District Jail Reasi.
“The duo accused persons were involved in NDPS cases and were promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of district Budgam”, reads the statement.
