Srinagar- National Investigation Agency on Wednesday carried out raids at three places in South Kashmir in connection with Sunjwan Jammu encounter in which two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants and a CISF sub-inspector were killed in April this year.
Official Sources said NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and paramilitary CRPF personnel carried out raids at two places in Anantnag district and one place Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
“NIA conducted searches at 3 locations in Kashmir (01 location in Pulwama District, 02 locations in Anantnag District) in the case of indiscriminate firing upon the security personnel on 22.04.2022 during a joint search operation in the area of Sunjwan, Jammu by (militants) in which one ASI of CISF was martyred and several others got injured,” NIA said in the statement.
The searches led to recovery and seizure of different type of incriminating materials, he said.
“Further investigations in the case are in progress,” the statement added.
