Srinagar- Government forces have killed 100 militants in Kashmir during counter insurgency operations since the beginning of this year with Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit bearing the maximum brunt as it lost 63 cadres, officials said here on Monday.
IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said that 100 militants have been killed in the Valley so far this year.
100 terrorists (71 local & 29 foreign) killed in different encounters in 5 months & 12 days this year in 2022. 50 terrorists (49 local & 01 foreign) were killed last year in 2021 in the same duration. Maximum losses to LeT (63) and JeM (24) terror outfits: IGP Kashmir

He said this was double the number of militants killed during the corresponding period last year.
While 63 of the slain militants belonged to banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, 24 others were affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), he further said.
