Srinagar- Unidentified militants on Thursday shot dead a migrant labourer and injured another in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Police said on Thursday, two non-locals were fired upon by the militants in the Magraypora area of Budgam district. Initial reports identified the victims as Goria and Dil Khush from Gurdaspur & UP respectively.
Dil Khush and Goria, working at a brick kiln, were fired upon by unknown militants at Magraypora village of Chadoora on Thursday evening, officials said. While Goira received a bullet injury in his hand, Dil Khush sustained serious injuries in his shoulder.
Both of them, officials said, were removed to the hospital for treatment. However, Dilkhush was referred to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries even before the doctors there could operate upon him.
“He was brought dead to the hospital. He had suffered blood loss due to bullet injury,” SMHS Medical Superintendent, Kanwaljeet Singh told Kashmir Observer.
Dil Khush’s killing comes hours after a bank manager was shot dead in Southern Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Meanwhile, soon after the attack, reports said, police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the village to nab the attackers.
