Srinagar- At least two students from Department of Law, University of Kashmir were injured in a scuffle on Wednesday morning.
Sources from within the Department of Law allege incidents like these are becoming “order of the day”. Though the general opinion about KU suggests a peaceful atmosphere.
A student speaking on anonymity said “Danish Haji was attacked with a knife by fellow students and had to be taken to JLNM Hospital”
However, another student questioned these claims alleging Danish Haji was the one who initiated the fight by attacking Yawar Shah with a rod.
“when I saw Yawar, he was bleeding from his forehead and had fell unconscious. He was beaten in a park behind the law department. They further threatened us with threats in the future.”
“We have approached the police as well.”
A group of female students from the Department of Law voiced their concerned over the incident saying it is difficult to study in a “toxic atmosphere”.
“The department is not installing CCTV’s for a reason. They want to shield influential students who are behind such incidents” they alleged.
Furthermore they said they were traumatized and one of their classmates witnessed a panic attack and some other students were also injured in the incident.
Students urge the Vice Chancellor to take cognizance of the incident and initiate action against miscreants who create nuisance.
