Srinagar- As many as 13 sheep were killed and over a dozen injured in stray dogs’ attack in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Locals in Surfraw Gund village of Ganderbal district said stray dogs barged into the cowshed at night and killed 13 sheep.
The sheep belonged to Mubarak Ahmad Raina son of Sonaullah Raina, a resident of Surfraw Gund.
“Stray dogs have killed 13 sheep and injured 14 others including lambs among which 4 are critical,” the owner of the livestock said, as per news agency KNT.
Locals alleged that Municipal Committee has been doing nothing to check the stray dog population that has grown exponentially over the years.
“This was not the first incident of such nature. Earlier as well, stray dogs killed dozens of sheep in other villages of the district including Watlur and Gund,” they added.
