Srinagar- In what seems to be an end to the third wave of Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir, 25 new cases of infection were reported on Monday, five of them in the Valley, while no fresh fatality was registered in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported just five fresh cases of Coronavirus on Monday while 20 others were detected from various districts of Jammu division.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar and Baramulla detected three and two new cases of virus respectively while no cases of Covid-19 were registered in the remaining eight districts of Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, Anantnag, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Shopian.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 12 new cases of virus, Ramban and Doda 3 each and two cases in Kishtwar. The remaining six districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Reasi detected no cases.
Also, the officials said that 57 Covid-19 patients—36 from Jammu and 21 from Valley— recovered during the time.
The officials further said that the death toll due to the pandemic remained unchanged at 4749 in J&K as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
