Srinagar- The Community Information Centre (CIC) Operators working in Rural Development Department (RDD) of J&K UT have appealed to the J&K Lieutenant Governor administration to get their services regularized.
CIC Operators working in Rural Development Department Monday made an appeal to LG Manoj Sinha to fulfil their long-pending demand of regularization.
CIC Operators Association President Noorul Naeem Siddiqi said that hundreds of CIC operators are working in Rural Development Department (RDD) and Panchayati Raj Department have been pressing for the demand of regularization for since eighteen years.
“For past two decades, we have been working on meagre salaries. We were appointed in RDD as CIC operators in 2004 on a contractual basis on a salary of Rs 5500 per month. It was enhanced to 10,000 in 2010”, Noorul Naeem said. Since then there has been no hike in our salaries, he added.
Mir Mushtaq who works as a CIC operator said after rendering our services for almost two decades, we are still not being regularized.
“We have surpassed the age of appointment and we can’t apply elsewhere for jobs”.
The CIC operators appealed the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and regularize the services of CIC Operators working in the Rural Development Department.
They expressed hope, the Lieutenant Governor led administration will regularize their services and increase monthly remuneration.
