Srinagar- For the third consecutive day Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir reported less than 100 cases of Coronavirus as 84 more people tested positive for the virus in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 21 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while the remaining 63 were detected in the various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 452901.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered a maximum of 12 new cases of virus, Budgam 4, Kupwara 3 and one case each in Bandipora and Baramulla districts. The five districts of Pulwama, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Shopian detected no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported the highest 30 fresh cases of infection, Doda 15, Kishtwar and Udhampur 6 each, Kathua 3, Ramban 2 and Rajouri 1. No new cases were registered in the three districts of Samba, Poonch and Reasi.
“Moreover, 208 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 158 from Jammu Division and 50 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that the death toll due to pandemic remained 4748 in J&K—2325 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
The officials also said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
