Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Wednesday 100 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while one more person succumbed to the infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 30 new cases of Coronavirus while the remaining 70 were detected in various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the onset of pandemic in J&K to 452647.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 12 new cases of virus, Budgam 6, Baramulla 5, Anantnag 3 and two cases each in Kupwara and Bandipora. The four districts of Pulwama, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Shopian detected no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 29 fresh cases of Coronavirus, Doda 25, Kathua 6, Ramban 4, Udhampur 3 and one case each in Rajouri, Samba and Poonch. No cases were reported from the twin districts of Kishtwar and Reasi.
Also, the officials said that one more person succumbed to Covid-19 related complications in Jammu division on Wednesday, raising the death toll in the pandemic to 4748 in J&K—2325 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir.
“Moreover, 182 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 90from Jammu Division and92 from Kashmir Division, they added.
