Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 540 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus, the lowest daily count in the last 34 days, even as two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley registered 228 new cases of Covid-19 while the remaining 312 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected by the virus in J&K to 449873.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 89 cases of Coronavirus, Budgam 32, Baramulla 29, Kupwara 26, Bandipora and Ganderbal 15 each, Pulwama 12, Anantnag 7 and six cases each in the twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian in south Kashmir.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 131 new cases of virus, Doda 61, Ramban 36, Kathua 27, Udhampur 22, Reasi 12, Rajouri 9, Samba 7, Poonch 6 and Kishtwar 1.
“Moreover, 1626 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 682 from Jammu Division and 944 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
Also, they said that two more people died of Covid-19 related complications in Kashmir Valley during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll due to the pandemic to 4741 in J&K—2320 in Jammu and 2421 in Kashmir.
The officials also said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
