Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Saturday 1606 fresh cases of novel Coronavirus while four more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 719 new cases of Covid-19 while the remaining 887 were registered from various districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K to 445497.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar detected the highest 212 fresh cases of Coronavirus, Baramulla 113, Anantnag 86, Budgam 75, Kupwara 63, Pulwama 47, Bandipora 45, Ganderbal 35, Kulgam 33 and Shopian 10.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum of 307 new cases of virus, Doda 259, Samba 94, Ramban 79, Udhampur 46, Kishtwar 26, Rajouri and Kathua 24 each, Poonch 19, and Reasi 9.
“Moreover, 5019 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 1166 from Jammu Division and 3853 from Kashmir Division,” they said.
Also, the officials said that four more people, two each from Jammu and Kashmir, died of Coronavirus related complications during the last 24 hours, raising the death toll in the pandemic to 4706 in J&K—2302 in Jammu and 2404 in Kashmir Valley.
The officials further said that no new cases of Mucormycosis were reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 51 across J&K.
