Srinagar- Police on Monday said that a notorious drug peddler from Baramulla district has been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, Muzamil Majeed Bhat alias Hashim of Mohalla Mir Sahib Baramulla was detained under PSA for his active involvement in drug peddling activities in Baramulla Town.
“Several cases under the NDPS Act stand already registered against him. He has been lodged at Central Jail Kot Bilwal Jammu under detention orders received from Divisional Commissioner Kashmir,” he said.
He further said that persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law.
“Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units,” he added.
