Srinagar- Police on Monday claimed to have arrested 14 gamblers in a series of raids in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Acting on reliable information about presence of gamblers at Takiya Batpora, Hardu Aboora, Hanjiwera Bala and Kripalpora Payeen, teams of policemen from of Police Station Kunzer and Pattan carried out raids and arrested fourteen gamblers from the locations, a police spokesperson said Monday.
Besides playing cards, the police spokesperson said an amount of Rs 36,440/- were also recovered from the accused.
“Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Kunzer/ Pattan and investigation set into motion,” he added.
