SRINAGAR– The authorities on Saturday sealed ‘Mughal Darbar Restaurant’ for allegedly violating Disaster Management guidelines with regard to Covid related SOPs.
Officials told Kashmir Observer the restaurant was found violating the SOP’s in broad daylight.
“A team was deputed to check the adherence of the Covid protocols and it was found the restaurant was not adhering to Covid-19 Sop’s. Tehsildar South Moeen Kakroo told Kashmir Observer.
He said that a large number of people were eating in the restaurant when the officials visited the restaurant.
“Under the guidelines a restaurant has to operate at fifty percent capacity” he added.
Visuals circulating on social media showed a team of officials headed by Naib Tehsildar raiding the premises of Restaurant.
The seizure of the popular hangout comes as Jammu and Kashmir saw the highest spike of 6568 Covid-19 cases on Saturday.4693 cases were reported from Kashmir Division and 1875 cases were reported from Jammu division.7 Covid related deaths were also reported, 5 from Jammu province and 2 from Kashmir Province.
The Authorities say they are enforcing a weekend lockdown to keep a check on the ever increasing number of Covid-19 cases.
