Srinagar- The district authorities on Wednesday shut down a branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Chandanwari area of Uri in Baramulla district after five employees tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to reports, five bank employees came out positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, a day after their samples were taken for RT-PCR tests to determine if they were infected. Besides the bank staffers, 3 3 employees of a private office at Challan Boniyar have also tested positive.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uri Harvinder Singh told a local news agency GNS that to check the spread of infection J&K Bank branch Chandanwari Uri and Jamkash office Challan Boniyar shall remain closed for two days—20 and 21 January.
Meanwhile all the employees of both offices have been directed to go for COVID-19 test. The authorities have also asked for fumigation of both the offices.
