Srinagar- In a second attack in the last 24 hours, unidentified militants on Monday attacked the Police Control Room (PCR) with a grenade in the high security Batamaloo area of this capital city.
According to reports, unknown militants lobbed a grenade at the 6th India Reserve Battalion at the PCR in Batmaloo area of the city on Monday evening that exploded with a bang.
Though no one was reported injured in the grenade attack, the government forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to nab the attackers.
Pertinently, this is the second such attack in the city in the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, militants lobbed a grenade at a joint team of police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at Saraf Kadal area of the Old City leaving a cop and a civilian injured.
Selection Grade Constable Mehraj Ahmad suffered splinter injuries in chest while Sartaj Ahmad Bhat suffered injuries in both legs in the grenade blast.
