GDC Sopore Organises Seminar On National Youth Day

Srinagar- A Seminar on National Youth Day was organised by the NSS wing of the Govt. Degree College Sopore on Wednesday.

Prof Shamsul Din Assistant Professor Psychology formally welcomed all the participants and started the Seminar. At the very outset the Principal, Govt. Degree College Sopore, Dr. Salma Ahad, briefly discussed about the role of youth for the betterment of society and the prosperity of the Indian nation. She also spoke about the philosophy and ideas of Swami Vevakananda. She focussed on the ideas of Swami Vevakananda, primarily his ideas of courage. fearlessness and bravery, the message he always advocated to the younger generation.

The key note speaker of the event was, Dr. Hilal Ahmad Wani, Assistant Professor of Political Science, delivered his lecture on the theme “Relevance of Swami Vevakananda’s ideas of Nationalism, Youth Empowerment and Education”. In his lecture he highlighted the important messages of the Swami Vivekananda to youth. Swamiji once said “My faith is in the younger generation. The modern generation out of them come my workers; they will work out the whole problems like lions.” As Swami ji further, encouraged youth “Be not afraid of anything you will do marvellous work, you can do anything and everything, believe in that do not believe that you are weak, stand up and express the divinity within you. Therefore, arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.”

At the end vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shamsul din NSS Officer.
