Srinagar- Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked a burglary case in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district by arresting a thief and recovering stolen property worth lakhs from him.
According to a police spokesperson, Manzoor Ahmad Dar of Bellow Dargund filed a written complaint with police on Monday claiming that unknown persons have stolen golden ornaments from his residential house. Accordingly, he said, a case vide FIR No. 02/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Rajpora and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, the police spokesperson said that the officers taking assistance of modern techniques arrested the accused who was working at the tailoring shop of the complainant located near his residential house.
“Subsequently, she has been shifted to Women Police Station where she remains in custody,” he said.
On her disclosure, the police spokesperson said that the investigating team were able to recover stolen gold items which includes one chain with pendulum, one bangles, one earrings, two jhumkas, two rings, one badge.
“Further investigation is in progress,” he added.
