Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Thursday 139 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 102 new cases of coronavirus while the remaining 37 were detected from various districts of the Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by the virus in J&K to 341167.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 51 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 15, Budgam 13, Pulwama 7, Kulgam 6, Ganderbal 4, Kupwara 3, Bandipora 2 and Anantnag 1. Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no fresh cases were registered.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 16 new cases of virus, Poonch 8, Udhampur 4, Kathua and Reasi 3 each, Doda 2 and Samba 1. The three districts of Rajouri, Kishtwar and Ramban detected no new cases of Coronavirus.
“Moreover, 120 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 19 from Jammu Division and 101 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also, they said that one more person succumbed to Covid-19 related complications in Jammu division on Thursday taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4526 in J&K—2198 in Jammu and 2328 in Kashmir. (PTI)
