Srinagar- Two alleged militant associates of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) were arrested by government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said Monday.
Adil Ali of Achan and Asif Gulzar of Hajidarpora were arrested by a joint team of police, army’s 4RR and the personnel of CRPF 182 battalion on the basis of a specific input, a police spokesperson said Monday. He said incriminating materials of JeM were recovered from their possession.
Preliminary investigations, the police spokesperson said, revealed that the arrested duo were in touch with JeM commanders & were involved in providing logistics, shelter as well as transportation of arms, ammunition and explosive materials to the militants JeM to strengthen “terror networks” operating across district Budgam.
“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands already registered at Police Station Litter and further investigation is under process,” he added.
