Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir reported on Wednesday 125 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while one more person died of Covid-19 related complications in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir reported 97 new cases of virus while the remaining 28 were detected from different districts of the Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by virus in J&K to 340161.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 47 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 17, Budgam and Kupwara 9 each, Bandipora 6, Ganderbal and Kulgam 3 each, Anantnag 2 and Pulwama one new case of Covid-19. Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no new cases were detected.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 20 new cases of virus; Rajouri and Poonch 3 each while one new case each in Udhampur and Doda districts. The five districts of Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi reported no fresh cases of Covid-19.
“Moreover, 143 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 21from Jammu Division and 122 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
Also, they said that one more person succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu division on Wednesday, raising the death toll to 4515 in J&K—2196 in Jammu and 2319 in Kashmir.
