Srinagar- Over a hundred fresh cases of novel coronavirus were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 78 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Kashmir Valley and 27 others in various districts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by virus since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 339932.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered 31 new cases of virus, Ganderbal 16, Budgam 10, Baramulla 6, Kupwara and Bandipora 5 each, Anantnag 3 and Pulwama 2. Twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian reported no new cases of Covid-19.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 19 new cases of virus, Rajouri 3, Doda 2 and one new case each in Kishtwar and Poonch. No fresh cases were detected in the four districts of
Udhampur, Samba, Ramban, Kathua and Reasi.
“Moreover, 192 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 32 from Jammu Division and 160 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also they said that one more person died of coronavirus related complications in Kashmir Valley, raising the fatality count to 4513 in J&K—2194 in Jammu and 2319 in Kashmir.
