Srinagar- As many 136 more people tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir reported 114 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday while the remaining 22 were detected in various districts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 339827.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 50 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 19, Ganderbal 11, Budgam and Kupwara 10 each, Bandipora 7, Pulwama 4, Anantnag 2, and Kulgam 1. Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no fresh cases were registered.
In the winter capital, the officials said that Jammu registered a maximum of 8 new cases of virus, Doda 5, Ramban 4, Poonch 3 and one new case each in Samba and Reasi districts. No fresh cases were detected in the four districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua and Kishtwar.
“Moreover, 142 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 42 from Jammu Division and 100 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also, they said that one more person died of coronavirus related complications in Kashmir Valley on Sunday, taking the death toll to 4512 in J&K—2194 in Jammu and 4511 in Kashmir.
