Srinagar- Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir show no sign of decline as 136 more people tested Covid-19 positive on Friday, while two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, two more people—one each from the Valley and Jammu divisions died of coronavirus related complications during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4510 in J&K—2193 in Jammu and 4510 in Kashmir.
About the new detected cases, officials said 96 were reported from the Valley and the remaining forty from various districts of the Jammu division.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 54 new cases of coronavirus, Ganderbal 11, Baramulla 10, Budgam 7, Kupwara, Anantnag and Bandipora 4 each and Pulwama 2 new cases of Covid-19. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian registered no fresh cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 18 new cases of virus, Udhampur and Doda 6 each, Kathua 5, Rajouri 3 and one new case each in Samba and Poonch. No cases were detected in the three districts of Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi.
“Moreover, 121 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 32 from Jammu Division and 89 from Kashmir,” the officials said.
Also, the officials said that no new confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) were reported Friday. So far 50 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.
