Srinagar- Coronavirus claimed the lives of three more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while 119 fresh cases of infection were registered in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in Kashmir Valley and one person in Jammu division, taking the death toll due to pandemic
About the new cases, officials said, 93 were detected in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 26 from different districts of Jammu division.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 48 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 11, Kupwara , Bandipora and Ganderbal 8 each, Budgam 6, Pulwama 3, and Shopian 1 new case of Covid-19. The twin districts of Kulgam and Anantnag in south Kashmir reported no fresh cases.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 20 fresh cases of virus, Udhampur and Doda two each and one new case each in Rajouri and Poonch. No new cases of coronavirus were registered in the five districts of Kishtwar, Ramban
“Moreover, 215 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 84from Jammu Division and 131 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
They further added that one new case of Mucormycosis was reported today, thus taking the total number of confirmed cases to 50 across J&K.
