Srinagar- One of the policemen killed in a suspected militant attack in Bandipora town on Friday, was the lone bread earner of his family, including his four small kids.
A resident of Dangerpora area of Sopore, 37-year-old slain cop Mohammad Sultan has left behind four children, wife and elderly father, reports said. He had joined the Jammu and Kashmir Police in 2009 and was the lone bread earner of family.
Sultan’s wife, reports said, recently gave birth to twin babies, who are just 2-3 months old. Besides, he is also survived by two more children and elderly father.
“After joining the police he was first posted at Bandipora in 2015 and last year he was transferred to Kupwara and was later transferred back to Bandipora,” Sultan’s cousin said.
“His two sons are 10 and 7 years old and other children, who are twin, are just 3 months old. Now who will take care of his little children? He was the only support for his family as his father is an aged man. What was his crime. Why was he killed,” he asked.
One of Sultan’s colleagues said that he always wanted to work at Bandipora as the place was nearby to his native village. (KNS)
