SCFA Bandipora, DP Dhar FA to battle for 3rd spot today

SRINAGAR- Sports Council Football Academy (SCFA) Srinagar and J&K Bank Football Academy (FA) will battle it out for the top spot in the inaugural NIFF Youth League.
The two academies confirmed their spots in the finals after winning their respective matches on Thursday. Meanwhile, SCFA Bandipora and DP Dhar FA will play for the third Youth League position today, Friday December 10 at 2:30 PM.
In the first match, a 12:00 PM kick off, the two SCFA academies of Srinagar and Bandipora went up against each other. Feroz of SCFA Srinagar gave his side the lead in the 4th minute and his team maintained the lead till the end of the first half. An own goal from SCFA Bandipora player Bilal Ahmad gave Srinagar a 2-0 lead in the 62nd minute. Junaid Manzoor then made it 3-0 for SCFA Srinagar in the 74th minute to effectively end Bandipora hopes. The match finished 3-0 in favour of SCFA Srinagar and Junaid was awarded player of the match award.
The second NIFF Youth League final round match was played between J&K Bank FA and DP Dhar FA. At half time the score was 0-0. However, in the 53rd minute of the second half Taufeeq gave J&K Bank the lead. Bank’s second goal came barely a minute later when Yawar Ali found the back of the net. Yamin Mehraj made it 3-0 for J&K Bank FA in the 80th minute. The match ended 3-0, and J&K Bank’s Athar Malik was awarded player of the match.
The date of the finals is yet to be announced, but one can be assured that it will be a cracking finale, and the 42nd match of the tournament, between SCFA Srinagar and J&K Bank FA.
