Srinagar- Two more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday while 151 fresh cases of infection were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, two more people from the twin divisions of Kashmir and Jammu died of Covid-19 related complications on Wednesday, taking the death toll in the pandemic to 4489—2189 in Jammu and 2300 in Kashmir.
About the new cases of virus, the officials said 107 were detected in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 44 from different parts of Jammu division.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered the highest 47 fresh cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 18, Ganderbal 15, Budgam 14, Kupwara and Bandipora 6 each and Anantnag 1new case of Covid-19. The three districts of Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama reported no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 22 new cases of infection, Poonch 9, Kathua and Samba 4 each, Rajouri 2 and one new case each in Udhampur, Doda and Reasi. No cases were registered in the twin districts of Kishtwar and Ramban.
“Moreover, 11 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 16 from Jammu Division and 95 from Kashmir,” officials added.
