SRINAGAR: J&K’s Under-19 team on Monday were reduced to 87/6 before wicketkeeper/batter Shivansh Sharma scored a thumping 110 to help J&K post a respectable 205 against Pondicherry on day 1 of the 4-day match of Cooch Behar Trophy (2021-22) being played at Kandukuri Cricket Academy, Vizag.
In reply, the Pondicherry side were 93/1 (26 overs) at stumps, trailing by 112 runs.
Shivansh made the blistering knock of 110 runs in 110 balls, smacking 16 fours and 5 sixes in the process.
J&K’s U-19 team lost their first match of the tournament against Karnataka in a dismal fashion. With three days to go, the young J&K side will look to bounce back.
