Srinagar- Coronavirus cases continue to show an upwards trend in Jammu and Kashmir as 177 more people, including 24 travellers tested positive for virus in the Union Territory though no fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 140 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 37 from different districts of Jammu division, taking the number of people infected by virus to 337263in J&K.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered highest 58 new cases of Covid-19, Baramulla 29, Budgam 13, Kupwara and Anantnag 11 each, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 5, Pulwama 4 and Kulgam 2. Shopian was the only district in the Valley where no new case of virus was reported.
In the winter capital, officials said, Reasi reported a maximum of 18 fresh coronavirus cases, Jammu 15, Poonch 2 and one new case each in Udhampur and Kathua districts. No new case surfaced in Rajouri, Doda, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban.
“Moreover, 167 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 36 from Jammu Division and 131 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also, the death toll in J&K, officials said remained unchanged at 4477—2185 in Jammu and 2292 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
