Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir registered on Tuesday 171 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while no Covid-19 related fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 139 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 32 from various parts of Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 336852.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 62 new cases of Covid-19, Baramulla 42, Budgam 16, Ganderbal 9, Kupwara 5, Bandipora 3 and one new case each in Pulwama and Anantnag. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian in south Kashmir registered no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 18 new cases of coronavirus, Kathua and Poonch 3 each, Udhampur, Rajouri and Reasi 2 each, and one new case each in Doda and Ramban. No cases were detected in Samba and Kishtwar districts.
“Moreover, 172 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 22 from Jammu Division and 150 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also, they said that the death toll remained 4476 in J&K—2185 in Jammu and 2291 in Kashmir, as no fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
