Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed the life of one more person in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while 150 fresh cases of infection were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in Kashmir Valley on Monday, raising the fatality count to 4476—2185 in Jammu and 2291 in Kashmir.
About the fresh cases of Covid-19 detected Monday, officials said 122 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 28 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected by virus so far to 336681.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported the highest 48 new cases of virus, Baramulla 23, Budgam 16, Bandipora 14, Ganderbal 7, Kupwara 6, Pulwama 4, Anantnag 2, and Kulgam and Shopian 1 each.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 15 new cases of virus, Reasi 4 and two each in Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch. The four districts of Udhampur, Kathua, Samba and Ramban reported no new cases of virus.
“Moreover, 181 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 20 from Jammu Division and 161 from Kashmir,” officials added.
