SRINAGAR: Real Kashmir FC began it’s title defence of IFA Shield 2021 on Wednesday with a 3-0 victory over Indian Arrows at East Bengal Stadium in Kolkata.
Seen as a preparatory build up for the I-League 2021-22 season, Real Kashmir named a strong line up in the opening Group A match of the competition.
Fran Gonzalez, Pratesh Shirodkar and Thoi Singh scored the goals for Real Kashmir and the team saw off the match comfortably against the young Arrows’ team.
Defender Fran Gonzalez scored the first goal in the 18th minute of the match. Pratesh doubled the Snow Leopards’ lead in the 23rd minute. The two quick-fire goals helped RKFC maintain a good command for the rest of the match. Thoi Singh scored RKFC’s third goal in the 87th minute.
Defending champion Real Kashmir, will next face Calcutta Customs FC (U19) on Sunday, November 28. This is the 124th edition of the IFA Shield.
