Handwara: The police have arrested the Executive Engineer of the Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited, formerly PDD, and an Assistant Accounts Officer for taking bribes.
As per a statement by the Handwara Police, a team headed by Superintendent of Police raided the PDD office Handwara on the basis of complaint and trapped two persons Mohammad Maqbool Lone, Executive Engineer and Assistant Accounts Officer Ghulam Mohammad Wani.
Tehsildar Handwara was also present during the raid.
The police recovered 20,000 rupees from their possession which they had allegedly taken as a bribe. Both the persons have been arrested and a case FIR NO: 337/2021 u/s 7Pc stands registered in p/s Handwara in this regard.
