Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Tuesday two more coronavirus deaths while 144 new cases of virus were detected across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, two more people succumbed to the deadly infection in Kashmir Valley during the last 24 hours, taking the overall fatality count to 4455—2179 in Jammu and 2276 in Kashmir.
About the fresh cases, officials said, 125 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 19 from Jammu division, thus taking the number of people infected by virus in J&K to 334432.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported 51 fresh cases of novel coronavirus, Baramulla 21, Ganderbal 16, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 9, Bandipora 8, Budgam 6 and Anantnag 2. No cases were reported from the twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian in south Kashmir.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of 13 new cases, Udhampur and Ramban two each, and one new case each in Rajouri and Doda districts. The five districts of Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Reasi registered no new cases of Covid-19.
“Moreover, 115 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 14 from Jammu Division and 101 from Kashmir,” officials said.
