Srinagar: Two more people succumbed to coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday while 174 fresh cases of virus were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, two more people died of Covid-19 related complications in Kashmir Valley on Sunday, raising the fatality count to 4450—2178 in Jammu and 2272 in Kashmir.
About the new cases of infection, officials said, 150 were reported from the Valley and the remaining 24 from parts of Jammu division thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 334180.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 68 new cases of coronavirus, Baramulla 29, Kupwara 21, Budgam and Ganderbal nine each, Bandipora 6, Anantnag 5 and Kulgam 1. The twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian reported no new case of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu registered a maximum nine new cases of infection, Reasi 8, Rajouri 4 and one new case each in Doda, Kathua and Poonch districts. No fresh cases were detected in Udhampur, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
“Moreover, 107 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 11 from Jammu Division and 96 from Kashmir,” they said.
