SRINAGAR: The Managing Director (MD) KPDCL, Dr. Basharat Qayoom on Saturday convened a review meeting of circle 2nd Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, MD impressed upon all the Engineers to work towards better, reliable and quality power supply to consumers especially during upcoming winter seasons.
He also impressed all the officers to adhere to approved curtailment schedules and provide information regarding unscheduled power cuts/ faults to the general public by using social media and other means. He also impressed upon them to make swift responses to faults.
MD emphasised on quality and reliable power supply to consumers. He took sub-division wise detailed review on issues of Revenue Realisation, Reduction in AT&C loss, status of all works under various schemes like B2V / District Capex/ UT Capex/ Winter preparedness, progress of ongoing works, DT Buffer reclamation, Inspection details (month wise).
While discussing the revenue realisation progress of Sub Divisions of Circle 2nd, MD KPDCL highlighted the issue of high AT&C losses in O&M Division Budgam and Division 3rd Srinagar.
Divisional and Sub-Divisional heads directed to improve their performance and monitor losses feeder-wise and fix the target for reduction of the same by 10 percent during the current quarter. Also Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineers were directed to make Feeder managers and other staff accountable on set parameters including reduction in AT&C losses and set a deadline.
During discussion the chair highlighted the less revenue recovery from the all category consumers from some of the Sub Divisions and they were directed to take every possible effort for recovery of the revenue from the consumers.
On the issue of power theft and illegal connections MD was informed that regular inspections and action taken reports are sought. MD expressed dissatisfaction in terms of inspections and corrective measures taken by the Sub Divisional officers of ED 3rd and Budgam. Sub-Divisions with poor performance were given time bound targets to improve their performance.
During the meeting MD issued strict directions to all the officers to stress upon reducing DT damage rate upto 10 percent during the winter months through extreme inspections / taking all preventive measures.
Superintending Engineer circle 2nd Srinagar informed the chair that advance planning and activities have already been started for winter preparedness. Reclaimable DT buffer has been readied by all divisional workshops and work in on double shifts as per the orders issued by the Chief Engineer Distribution Kashmir.
